General Summary:
The Assistant Manager of Welding will train and lead Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and Team Members on assigned projects, manage daily production activities, and provide team members with work standards.
Essential Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- 35% - 45%: Provide training, leadership, direction, and coaching to the Welding Shop Team Members, Team Leaders, and Group Leaders.
- 35% - 45%: Enforce safety rules and regulations and work with Team Members to reduce all injuries and achieve target per yearly business plan.
- 1% - 5%: Follow up and approve scrap in SAP as well as develop weekly report with countermeasures.
- 5% - 15%: Promote positive Team Member morale through fairness, consistency and team building activities.
- 5% - 15%: Lead project activities, drive change and maintain focus on continuous improvement for shift and department.
- 5% - 10%: Ensure daily management of all production responsible equipment maintenance.
- 35% - 45%: Achieve daily production plans, adjust daily production schedules and monitor shop flow.
- 5% - 10%: Study downtime data and ensure downtime is accurately recorded.
- 5% - 10%: Monitor overtime, consumables, and other operating expenses to meet KPI targets.
- 5% - 10%: Prepare, provide, and enforce team members work standards.
- 35% - 45%: Check and improve quality issues and downtime during production and provide quick solutions to reduce each.
- 5% - 10: Develop and carry out new model launch program.
- 5% - 10%: Prepare presentations and reports as required.
- 5% - 10%: Promote improvements regarding LPA audits, SWIS processes, and documentation audits.

Qualifications and Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related field along with five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in
- a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of
- education and experience.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Teamwork oriented.
- Proven ability to communicate.
- Must be able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
- Knowledge of welding shop process and tool technology preferred.
