General Summary:

The Group Leader will train and lead team members on assigned projects and manage daily maintenance activities, as well as, providing team members with work standards. 

Essential Primary Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to accountabilities below):

  • Lead project activities.
  • Management of line/group activities related to Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost and People 
  • Achieve daily production plans and adjust daily production schedules.
  • Study downtime data and ensure downtime is accurately recorded.
  • Production preparation: tool purchasing plan, cleaning plan, subsidiary material purchasing plan.
  • Monitor shop flow.
  • Prepare, provide, and enforce team members work standards.
  • Check and improve quality issues during production.
  • Provide and improve quick solutions to reduce downtime.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations.
  • Develop and carry out new model launch program.
  • Train team members on audit issues.
  • Prepare presentations and reports as required.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED along with two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • One (1) to two (2) years in related area of position. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role. 
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, effective follow-up, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
  • Knowledge of assembly shop process and tool technology preferred.
  • Production supervision and management skills.
