General Summary:

Develop broad understanding and application of the automotive industry standards and continually strive for improvements and excellence in all facets of the business.  Ensure quality standards of parts provided by suppliers and in-house operations.

Essential Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and investigate supplier contributions to quality concerns on EV structural body parts
  • Identify and improve panel matching concerns on EV structural body parts(floors, sides, QTRs)
  • Monitor weld quality on supplier components for EV structural assemblies, and track improvement items.
  • Monitor accuracy of supplier EV structural components and MIP assemblies.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Development Specialist to provide updates to supplier scorecards.
  • Coordinate 4M changes and ISIR approvals.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in quality control and supplier quality experience preferably at an OEM in body-in-white automotive manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple priorities and time frame.
  • Possess strong self-responsibility.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations, exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.
  • Strong problem solving, technical, planning, organizational and decision-making skills and experience in the area of quality control in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible schedule to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
  • Experience with SPC & Gage R&R
